In the next 24 hours, we’re going to be releasing a few noticeable changes to the layout of the STAT interface. Don’t be shocked when you see these changes go live! Repeat after me: “Change is good. Change is good. Change is good.” There, don’t you feel better? :)
Now, take a deep breath, and read on…
First off, we’ve made some minor changes to the layout of the Home Tab. We’re attempting to make the News & Updates links to articles like this a lot more noticeable. We rely on being able to stay in touch with our growing user base via these News updates. This new layout will help you notice when we write a new News article. We’ve also made a few minor tweaks to the home tab like increasing the opacity of our polygon logo on the right side, lowering the size of the STAT logo on top, and reducing the font-size of the vanity statistics we show you about your account.
The biggest change has to do with the Projects Tree. Currently, the Projects Tree is always there on the left side of the STAT interface. When you open a new site, the Projects Tree shrinks to make space for the Site Navigation above it. In the new layout we’re releasing in the next 24 hours, the Projects Tree will only be accessible via the Home Tab. This means that when you want to open up a different site, you’ll need to go to the Home Tab and then select that site from the Projects Tree. We’ve also moved the button to create a new Project from the top of the frame to the bottom of the frame. You can still right-click on any blank part of the Projects Tree to create a Project via the context-menu.
The goal behind this change is to present a cleaner and more intuitive interface for our users. This will also result in a lot of extra screen space for the Site Navigation, which will be great news for those of you with many Tags and/or many Tag Views.
We hope you don’t find this change too stressful on your work flow. We believe that this is a positive change that makes our interface more intuitive and cleaner. We hope you agree!
