Share of Voice: SERP Features

Overview

The number in the centre of this doughnut chart is the total share of voice generated by your keywords on the current day. Below, you’ll see how much this amount has changed from the 30-day average — a blue arrow means it has increased in share of voice, and a red arrow means it has decreased.

The doughnut chart shows how this total is split between organic results and SERP features. Hover over the green section to see the organic share of voice metrics and the grey section to see the SERP feature share of voice metrics.

When clicking through your sites, tags, and data views, this module will flag segments that might be good candidates for a SERP feature strategy. Start your investigation with segments that drive an unusually high SERP feature share of voice (i.e. the bigger the grey segment the better).

For the next three modules in this section: Top Increases/Decreases, Your Primary Source of SoV, and Your Top Gains/Losses, you can customize which SERP features appear by clicking the Settings button in the top right corner.

Top Increases/Decreases  — Here you’ll find the three features that had the largest increases or decreases in share of voice on the SERPs. The metric for each feature gives the difference between the current-day share of voice total and the 30-day average — a blue or red arrow shows whether it is trending up or down. Click any of the six metrics to hop over to the Keywords tab and view every keyword that produced the feature.

Your Primary Source of SoV  — Here you’ll find the feature that is giving your site the most visibility. The speedometer shows the total share of voice available for that feature, and the needle marks how much of it you own. Out of the SERP features that you own, this drives the most share of voice on the current day.  Clicking the speedometer will take you to the Keywords tab, showing you the keywords where your site appeared in the given SERP feature.

Your Top Gains/Losses  — Out of the SERP features that you own, here you’ll see which two gained and lost the most share of voice. The metric at the end of each bar shows how much daily share of voice has been won (in blue) or lost (in red) when compared with the 30-day average. Click on a metric to go to the Keywords tab and view every keyword that produced the feature.
