On October 25, we’ll be saying fare thee well to Yahoo data in STAT. We’re parting ways to make room for new features, deeper SERP insights, and more relevant search engines. Huzzah!
To make sure our priorities aligned with yours, we looked at trends in the SEO industry, spoke with many of you about your individual tracking strategies, and pored over STAT usage metrics — and found an overall lack of Yahoo! enthusiasm.
There’s plenty of time to prepare
We’ll start the retirement process next month, giving you lots of opportunity to get your Yahoo ducks in a row.
Our first step will be to remove Yahoo from the frontend of STAT on September 27 — this means that your Yahoo metrics will no longer be visible in the Dashboard, Keywords, and Competitive Landscape tabs. We will continue to crawl Yahoo for another month after that, during which time you can access any current or historical data through our reporting and API services.
As of October 25, Yahoo will be enjoying official retirement status.
You can still see Yahoo Japan SERPs (with Google)
Since Google has been powering Japan’s Yahoo SERPs for the last seven years, you’ll simply need to look at your Google data to get those same results.
Google and Bing aren’t going anywhere
Your Google and Bing data will continue to roll in, business as usual.
We can help you with custom reports and API calls
If you need a hand exporting your Yahoo data or just want to chat about the upcoming change, email clientsuccess@getSTAT.com and we’ll get back to you right-quick.
Cheers,
The STAT team
