As you may have noticed, the latest Penguin update has arrived. We’ve written a brief blog post analyzing the preliminary impact of this update. You can read about it here:

When you open up your sites, I recommend you take a look at the number of Ranking Keywords in the Site Overview graph first. See what direction it is trending in. Depending on the volume of keywords you’re tracking for each site, you may see a sizable change between May 21st and May 22nd. From there, if you want to dig deeper into the impact, look at the ranking distribution for the tags you have set up. You should be able to see movement in the SERP in these ranking distribution graphs, and how that movement has impacted your average rankings. We have seen clients who have had major impact from this Penguin update in some tags but not others on the same site, so we have a feeling that part of this update is affecting certain types of search queries or certain verticals.
