New interface for Ranking Distribution graphs (and other updates)

Today we’ve released a host of interface tweaks and updates.

1. We’ve moved the home of the Ranking Distribution tag graphs.
Some users told us that they thought the Ranking Distribution tag graphs were too hidden in the interface. Previously, users had to goto the Tags table, then select a tag, and then chose the Ranking Distribution sub-tab. We’ve now made the Ranking Distribution tag graphs available when you click on a tag in the “All Tags” View, or on an individual tag within one of your custom Tag Views. When you click on one of your tags, STAT will load up the standard keyword table just like you’re used to seeing, but you’ll notice that above that table there is now a new tab called “Ranking Distributions”. This is where you’ll be able to find your Ranking Distribution graphs. The idea is that you will now be able to drill down into individual keywords, and then quickly switch over to looking at the Ranking Distribution graph without interrupting your workflow.

This also sets the stage for some future metrics and dashboards we’d like to release. We’re going to be making these new metrics and dashboards accessible via tabs like these.

2. Browser resizing
STAT now adjusts the contents of your browser properly when you resize your browser. Previously, if you resized your browser you’d have to refresh the screen, but not any more! You’ll now be able to adjust your browser to any size and expect that STAT will adapt accordingly.

3. Upgrading our graphing library
We’ve upgraded the library we use to power our charts and graphs. In general, you will find that your graphs look a little bit cleaner, and the transitions are smoother. Also, you’ll note that STAT’s graphs no longer show increments in hours when you’re looking at a small date range.

4. Miscellaneous
We moved the “create new project” button back up to the top of the Projects tree on the Home tab. In the last interface update, we moved it from the top of the tree to the bottom, but after listening to user feedback, we decided to revert this change.

We changed the styling of the label we use for the Projects tree and the Views tree.

The Tags table no longer displays a list of keywords for the tag you select. Users can easily see a list of keywords in a tag by selecting that Tag from the “All Tags” view. The Tags table is now just used for adding, editing, and deleting your inventory of tags.

That’s it! A whole bunch of changes at once! I hope you find these to be improvements. Please feel free to share your feedback with us, anytime.

Warm regards,
Rob, and the STAT Team
